Procedures and Care for Tattoos
Tattoos are decorative markings on the skin used for several purposes.
In some special cases, tattoos are used for medical reasons and
cosmetics to hide permanent skin discolorations. Tattoos on human are
usually types of body modifications, while tattoos on animals are used
for identification. Tattoos have been popular in the whole world and in
different countries and culture, they are used for different purposes.
On the pre-Christian era, tattoos are already used by some primitive
people. Despite some negative views about tattoos, they are becoming
prevalent and still becoming more popular in the modern and more liberal
era.

Before getting a permanent tribal tattoo on your skin for some reasons
of becoming more attractive, you should think about it for several
times. Once you have a permanent tattoo, you will have it in your entire
life unless you encounter a serious accident that would damage your
skin. However, there are temporary tattoos usually popular with children
and models. Typical examples of these type of tattoos are the body
stickers usually transferred to skin with the aid of water. They may not
have a long lasting effect on skins but they look like a typical
permanent tattoo. Temporary tattoos are removed by using oil-based
creams. Other example of temporary tattoos are hennas. Tattoos are
collection of inks and dyes inserted in the surface of the skin,
specifically the dermis. Dermis is a layer of dermal tissue underlying
the epidermis. There are many different ways of tattooing but the most
basic one is to cut and rub the skin with ashes. Once the cut or the
wound heals, a scar is formed. This scar will be permanently dyed
according to design. In traditional Japanese tattoos, the tattooing
procedure is known as tebori. Tebori is done by inserting the ink using
hand-made, hand-held and non-electrical tools with sharp needles and
bamboo steels. The most modern procedure in tattooing is done through
tattoo machine.
Once the tribal tattoo is successfully engraved in one's skin, it is
the responsibility of the individual to take care of it. Usually, there
are some side effects and pains that is felt after tattooing. It is
advisable to wrap the fresh tattoo with clean cloth for the first
twenty-four hours. Nothing should infect your fresh tattoo because this
is also considered as wound. Do not soak in hot water or pool water for
too long so as to prevent the tattoo ink from fading or washing out due
to some water contents like chlorine and bacteria. Take care of your
fresh tattoo because this is how your tattoo will look like for long
time. You might not want to destroy your tattoo's design.
